Collection: Burnt Roti

Our free exhibition celebrates Burnt Roti.

Burnt Roti is a radical feminist magazine made by South Asians, to platform conversations around identity and mental health. Since it was launched in 2016, it has made its way to households around the globe. Founder Sharan Dhaliwal was raised in Southall and Hounslow.

This exhibition spotlights three iconic transgender and/or non-binary South Asians: Shash Appan (she/her), Sabah Choudrey (they/he), and Shiva Raichandani (they/them). Shash, Sabah, and Shiva are the stars of the most recent edition of Brunt Roti, which also platforms essays, photography, illustration and poetry from the transgender and non-binary South Asian community. As part of the exhibition copies of Burnt Roti are available for visitors to read.
